• Vice President of Sales, Public Sector

  • Overview

    We are looking for a highly strategic sales leader to join our team as Vice President of Sales focused on revenue growth primarily within our Public-Sector Vertical. You will manage an inside team of sales professionals to achieve sales and revenue targets. The team will consist of Sales Development Representatives, Account Executives, and Account Managers who will be focused on generating new revenue from within our existing client base and new clients. You will collaborate with other senior Company leaders to successfully close deals with customers, and you will influence executive management to achieve documented sales objectives. As we capitalize on our segmentation strategy, this leader will utilize past field sales experience in building and implementing large-scale and successful inside sales practices to work closely with the sales team, marketing and sales operations to develop and implement a workforce strategy and hiring plan while leveraging new technologies and market strategies. The successful leader in this role will be expected to design, implement and measure sales routines for new business development, pipeline management, employee onboarding, team member development, recognition, and engagement. In addition to being a strong leader, coach and mentor, they must be an excellent communicator who is highly motivated, passionate, and driven by the challenge of advancing a sales team, increasing sales and meeting / exceeding goals and objectives.


    • Generate a predictable stream of revenue to grow the business.
    • Develop and manage sales plan to ensure sales and revenue goals are achieved.
    • Be an effective change agent, thought leader and designer of consistent tools, processes and measurement routines within the respective teams.
    • Ensure that the team has the knowledge, skills and developmental plans to overachieve in their assigned quotas.
    • Coordinate sales planning and monthly reviews of opportunity pipeline with direct line reporting managers, identifying opportunities, demand & revenue generation and action plans to drive goal and meet / exceed targets.
    • Work with marketing to maintain an updated definition of Marketing Qualified Leads.
    • Supervise the outbound SDR function for efficient prospecting.
    • Accurately record all leads and opportunities in SalesForce.
    • Present up-to-date dashboards with KPIs as well as weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
    • Manage and resolve escalations allowing the team to stay focused on sales.
    • Build and promote a cohesive, customer-centric team with strong internal relationships.
    • Build a “trusted advisor” relationship with key client executives.


    • 10+ years professional sales management experience.
    • The ideal candidate has a background in Public Sector, ecommerce sales and has held a leadership position.
    • Proven client relationship skills including understanding a client’s strategic objectives and both short and long-term business requirements.
    • Experience writing and reviewing RFP’s
    • Demonstrated ability to hire, coach, mentor and retain exceptional sales talent.
    • Successful track record of achieving sales targets and increasing market share in both the existing client base and with new accounts.
    • Strong sense of accountability and responsibility
